An exciting opportunity is available for a suitably qualified and experienced Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join the team at Rainbow Rustenburg in Rustenburg, North West.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting and distributing goods to various customers while ensuring that vehicles are operated efficiently and in accordance with company policies, road traffic legislation and safety procedures.

This position is ideal for an experienced professional driver who has extensive ultra-heavy vehicle and Super Link driving experience and understands the importance of safe, responsible and efficient transportation.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate.
• Good verbal and numerical literacy.
• Valid Code EC driver’s licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP/DGP).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles.
• Previous Super Link driving experience is required.
• Must be 25 years or older.
• Safe driving record.
• Clean criminal record.
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to follow instructions and company procedures.

The successful candidate should have knowledge and understanding of:

• Defensive driving techniques.
• Ultra-heavy vehicle operation.
• The function and location of vehicle components.
• Vehicle inspection procedures.
• Reporting procedures for emergencies and vehicle defects.
• Correct use of a fire extinguisher.
• Safe vehicle loading techniques.
• Load securing requirements.
• Maximising vehicle cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Relevant road traffic and safety requirements.

The Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver will be responsible for:

• Preparing the vehicle for each trip.
• Operating ultra-heavy duty vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Loading, transporting and offloading goods.
• Ensuring loads are properly secured before departure.
• Ensuring that vehicles are not overloaded in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act.
• Operating offloading equipment where required or supervising the offloading process.
• Opening and closing tarpaulins where applicable.
• Completing and handling all required documentation.
• Conducting vehicle inspections and reporting defects or emergencies.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and housekeeping of the vehicle.
• Taking care of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety procedures.
• Dealing with customers in a professional and efficient manner.
• Completing other reasonable duties and instructions provided by the supervisor.

The successful applicant must be prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Candidates will also be required to successfully complete or undergo:

• Medical evaluation.
• USCS training modules.
• Company induction processes.
• Practical driving evaluation.
• Verification of a clean criminal record.
